Our Mission

We provide short-term emergency help for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults in North Mississippi who find themselves in urgent need of housing, food, and medical resources.  We also help to connect LGBTQ+ youth and young adults with existing resources in the community.

Our Story:

We are educators and advocates who are dedicated to creating inclusive spaces and helping individuals in need.  Over the years, we have heard a number of stories about LGBTQ+ youth and young adults who have suffered housing and food insecurity after coming out, and who have struggled to find counseling and appropriate medical care.  We decided to establish a fund to try and help during such crises, instead of hearing about these situations after the fact.

We look forward to the day when an LGBTQ+ Emergency Fund is no longer necessary and all young people have the resources, support, and safety they need.

How To Get Help:

We have a cap of up to $250 for immediate assistance with housing and food. We also collaborate with other services in North Mississippi and will connect with appropriate services

Note: this is not a crisis hotline. If you are in need of immediate help or in danger, call 911. If you are 18 or over, Family Crisis Services of Northwest Mississippi provides services for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, or homicide; their hotline at 662-234-9929.

If you are under the age of 18, we are required by law to connect you with Child Protective Services. We will collaborate with your advocate to find you appropriate support and care. If you need immediate assistance, please call the CPS hotline at 800-222-8000.
